Congratulations to the 22 graduates of the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Development Programme.
The graduates express their gratitude to all the trainers in the field of tourism and in the academic environment, who with great dedication and professionalism contribute to the training of professional skills, as well as the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova for the support provided in the training of trainees!
The Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure program is being launched to meet the real training needs of professionals in the tourism, hospitality and guide services industries. Taking into account the needs of the tourism market and the tourist groups received, tourism and hospitality employees, including tour guides, must have appropriate training. The role of this program is to identify the importance of education in the field of tourism, hospitality and especially tour guides.
The program is provided by the Resource Center for Continuing Education together with the Department of Economics, Marketing, Tourism and the National Association of Domestic and Inbound Tourism of the Republic of Moldova, and is being developed on the initiative and with the support of the Moldova Competitiveness Project, funded by USAID Moldova, Sweden and UKAid.

New graduates of the advanced training program in the field of hotel services, tourism and recreation receive diplomas from the State University of Moldova
Today, November 30, 2023, an event was held dedicated to the presentation of diplomas to 23 students of the advanced training course in the field of “Hotel Services, Tourism and Leisure,” which brought together representatives of the tourism industry and the academic environment for constructive communication, discussion of the opportunities and problems of this industry.
At the opening of the event, Mr. Igor Sharov, doctor, associate professor, rector of Moscow State University, spoke, who noted “... the importance of tourism as the main means of promoting intercultural relations. The State University of Moldova, with the most diverse educational offer in our country, through its programs including continuing education, prepares specialists for successful implementation in the tourism industry, based on three pillars of development: quality, productivity and image. Sincere congratulations to the graduates of this program and good luck in your endeavors.”
The guest of honor of the event was Mr. Andrei Chistol, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, who noted that “...tourism is a priority of the national economy, and in recent years ministerial programs have been focused on attracting investment and introducing new technologies and quality standards in tourism . This excellent result, achieved jointly through the training of a group of 23 tourism entrepreneurs with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, reveals the importance of ensuring an effective link between practical and academic activities used in the preparation of future tourism professionals.”
Ms. Natalia Turcanu, Tourism Development Manager at the USAID-funded Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project, congratulated the graduates for their active participation and promoting the values of learning among tourism entrepreneurs, noting that “... our country has made more progress in the development of the tourism industry, and among those who have worked hard to promote the image of the country through the development of tourism and the valorization of hospitality, tradition and authentic values."
At the end of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Mrs. Maria Hamuraru, thanked all those present for their involvement and openness in organizing this event, noting the role of the academic environment in training specialists in the field of tourism capable of developing projects aimed at adapting modern tourism infrastructure that will contribute to the development sustainable tourism and contribute to the inclusion of the Republic of Moldova as a destination in the international tourism circuit.
